How to Use Mesoform Therapeutic: A Complete Guide
If you've just received your Mesoform Therapeutic device — or you're still not quite sure you can set it up on your own — this guide walks you through the whole process, from unboxing to finishing your first session. It doesn't replace the printed manual that ships with the device, but it pulls together everything you need in one place, in the order you'll actually use it.

Setting Up the Device for the First Time
Step 1: Check What's Included
Unpack the device and check the contents against the list above.
Step 2: Connect the Electrodes and Power
Turn the "MIN-MAX" dial all the way to the left (minimum). Connect the electrodes to the cable, and the cable to the port on the side of the unit. Plug the power adapter into the device and into a standard outlet.
Step 3: Turn It On and Test the Buttons
Press the power switch — the "10" and "P1" indicators will light up. Press the "MODE" button a few times to confirm the P1–P4 indicators cycle correctly. Press the timer button to check it switches between 10, 15, and 20 minutes.
Step 4: Test the Current on Yourself (Optional)
Strap the electrodes to your forearm with a bit of conductive gel underneath, press "START," and gradually raise the current with the dial until you feel a light tingling or vibration. This helps you get a feel for a comfortable intensity before your first real session.
Choosing the Right Mode
The device runs in four modes. Which one you use depends on the goal of your session:

Step-by-Step: Running a Session
Disinfect the electrodes — wipe the contact surface with a cotton pad and 3% hydrogen peroxide, or another approved disinfectant
Clean the skin in the treatment area with a warm, damp cloth
Apply gel or medication — conductive gel for a general session, or the prescribed medication if you're doing electrophoresis
Attach the electrodes with the straps, keeping polarity in mind: anode (+) connects to the gray plug, cathode (–) to the black plug
Choose your mode and duration using the "MODE" and timer buttons
Press "START" — you'll hear a long beep, and the timer indicator will start blinking
Gradually raise the current with the "MIN-MAX" dial until you feel a light tingling, warmth, or vibration — never pain
Let the session finish — the device beeps at the 15-, 10-, and 5-minute marks, then gives three long beeps when the session ends
Controls During a Session
Pause — a short press of "STOP" pauses the session and cuts the current, keeping your settings. You can still change the mode with the "MODE" button while paused
Resume — press "START" again. It's best to reset the "MIN-MAX" dial to minimum first and re-find a comfortable intensity
Ending early — a long press of "STOP": all indicators blink three times, three long beeps sound, and the settings reset to default
Safety Rules and Contraindications
The device meets the requirements for Class IIa medical devices (per DSTU EN 60601-1) for protection against electric shock. Even so, a few rules matter:
Only use the power adapter that came with the device — never a substitute
Don't run a session over broken or irritated skin
The session should never cause pain or real discomfort — only a light tingling or vibration
Contraindications: cancer, pregnancy, elevated body temperature, acute inflammation at the treatment site, flare-ups of chronic conditions, individual intolerance to electrical current, a pacemaker or other electronic implants.
A doctor's consultation is recommended before starting home treatment.
Caring for Your Device
Disinfect the electrodes after every use with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Store the device somewhere dry, at room temperature, and keep moisture away from the electronic unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run a session twice a day? The standard protocol is one session per day per treatment area. Anything more frequent should be discussed with a doctor.
What if I feel a burning sensation under an electrode? Lower the current right away with the dial, or stop the session with the "STOP" button. Check that the pad is damp enough and the electrode is making firm, even contact — a burning feeling is often a sign of a dry connection.
Can I use the device without a doctor's prescription? For general sessions with conductive gel, yes — just follow the instructions. For electrophoresis with medication, you'll need a prescription, since choosing the right drug and dose is a medical decision.
